Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival
See Me has been a partner to the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival since its inception 17 years ago. The festival demonstrates year after year what a central role the arts and creative projects can take in exploring issues around mental health and breaking down the stigma that creates a barrier to so many people accessing support or speaking openly about their experiences.
See Me has sponsored the anti-stigma prize in the SMHAF film festival for the last 5 years, and a See Me volunteer sits on the jury panel. In 2019 See Me and SMHAF partnered with An Lanntair in Stornaway to deliver a participatory arts project about mental health.
Over the years, many See Me volunteer-led creative activities have been included in the festival programme and have benefitted hugely from the wider reach and thematic focus provided by the festival.
