Pachedu

Learn how See Me has collaborated with Renfrewshire-based charity Pachedu.

PACHEDU was established in 2016 in Renfrewshire as a registered charity working with diverse minority ethnic groups across a broad range of protected characteristics according to the Equality Act 2010 to promote diversity, tolerance and dignity for humanity.

Community members, staff and a number of participants took part in our It’s Okay to Talk training. This training means they are now able to facilitate an It’s Okay to Talk workshop, a new resource See Me created to make it easier to ask someone how they are – especially, if you think someone is struggling

This session provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on the current session resource and use their expertise to tailor it to the needs of the community members as required.

We will use our learning from this process to adapt our approaches (from community engagement to training and delivery) and resources overall. Our first session took place on 2 May 2024 at the Tannahill centre in Paisley.

*See Me recognises that terminology and labels used to refer to social groups is ethically and politically complex, can be harmful and is subject to debate and update.

On our website we have used the terminology partners themselves or cited publications have used to refer to the communities they are led by or referring to. We are committed to continually engaging with this critical debate to understand and limit harm.
