Icebreaker Dundee

This project features recorded spoken word performances themed around gender, mental health and the link between them.

Icebreaker Prism was a collection of spoken word performances by Iona Lee, Morgan Black, Fever Peach and Luis Alçada.

The performances were themed around gender, mental health and the link between them. They were performed live in front of an audience, and recorded before being posted on social media.

Around 50 people attended the performance, and more than 5,000 have seen the photos and Instagram reels posted online.

The content created at the event got great feedback from both the audience and the performers, collected at the time and online.

Project lead Luis Alçada said: “My main creative belief has always been that it’s possible to tackle challenging issues in a way that is both kind and accessible to a wide audience, and I found this project incredibly encouraging and reassuring in that respect.”
