“People Like Us” Project

The People Like Us podcast project worked with 5 Community Correspondents to explore themes around mental health and poverty stigma.

One volunteer felt that being involved in the project has been transformative in terms of their overall health, not just in terms of confidence and mental wellbeing but physical too, calling it a “game changer for my health outcomes”. This is a great example of the power of participatory arts for holistic development.

He also shared “It’s reassuring to meet a bunch of other people who are in the same boat as you…being able to relate is an important thing…you’re camaraderie, your community.”

The podcast team held a launch event at The Boardwalk in Glasgow in January 2025 where Mindwaves staff and volunteers were joined by friends, family and community partners to celebrate the project.
