National Resources

    Share your positive experiences as well as what needs to change. Read other people’s experiences of a service with a handy look up tool. Founded in 2005 this is an independent non-profit feedback platform for health and social care services and covers all of the UK. Individuals who use services put their stories in to Care Opinion and the organisation then sends this out to all the key staff who need to know to help services improve. These stories can be read by anyone visiting the site.

    Understand how health and social care are required by law to work together (integration). Handy links to key legislation and links.
  • Scottish Community Development Centre - www.scdc.org.uk
    Find out how to make a participation request. Understand community development as a way to influence change. Recognised as the national lead for community development in Scotland, the SCDC have resources online as well as skilled team members to support communities to be more empowered. Participation requests are a key part of the Community Empowerment Act; if you make one, services are expected to agree to work with you if they can.

    Sign up to become a member to get their newsletter and opportunities for volunteer involvement roles. Find out key engagement events in your area, board members, contact details for the involvement officer. Each area in Scotland has a slightly different approach to how NHS and the local council will work in partnership to deliver services. Moray has an Integrated Join Board (IJB) who plan and monitor services in adult and older people (children services currently separate).
